After the fast and heavy metal of The Agonist now something more sustained and epic. The symphonic metal of the Spanish from Diabulus In Musica was quite easy listeneing. Although front woman Zuberoa Aznárez excused directly in the beginning that she still had a cold of which you could not hear anything during the concert. As support they had a group of background singer with them who all conveyed their good mood really great to the audience.
They played songs of their debut album "Secrets" which remembered me a little bit of Epica but was much more simple and monotonous. Zuberoa sings with an operatic voice which is only interrupted from time to time by growls of the choir. Also the keyboarder Gorka Elso who put himself quite often into the spot on stage drowned more with his instrument in the music rather than he was standing out. During the two songs "The Forest Of Ashes" and "Dueto De Las Flores" Zuberoa got support by Maite Itoiz.
All in all it did not sound that bad but it was not really enthusing me. For me there was missing the certain something. But maybe Diabulus In Musica will continue to develop and provide next year on Metal Female Voices Fest IX a more convincing performance.
