Until The Beauty Of Gemina entered the stage some more people gathered compared to their supporting act Me.Man.Machine. Still it was a very small and intimate concert in front of approximately 80-90 persons although it was not seeming empty at the Kulturfabrik.
The Swiss around the allrounder Michael Sele are not easy to categorize from music style point of view. But also the five so far released albums are not uniform. And so there are classic pieces that I would more put into the Dark Rock / Gothic direction like e.g. "Suicide Landscape". On the other hand during the first encore song sound which are more synthesizer based ("Goth DJ"). As the band was currently touring with a pure acoustic set and released the belonging album "The Myrrh Session" of course with "Dark Rain" a song out of that may not be missing.
The gig was very entertaining and you did not recognize that the band overall across the normal set and the three encores played roughly 90 minutes. Only of the audience I had expected some more. Only towards mid of the concert they slowly began to melt and from that point in time the atmosphere got constantly better from song to song. This could have happened a little bit earlier from my point of view. Anyhow all had fun with the show. We can only hope that their music will find its way into the radio at their home country because that was not the case according to singer Stele (The rationale of the Swiss radio was: "The music is too depressive, the listeners would not be able to survive that." was at least disproved by the Krefeld audience).
