Wacken Open Air XXIII
(Pentax K-5 with Sigma AF 70-200mm 2.8 EX DC APO HSM II)
The German power metal band Winterstorm got via the Metal Masters election to their gig at Wacken and were now able to prove their skills.
The whole thing was very melodic and the refrains very catchy. With them the guys around singer Alexander Schirmer not only had pieces of their debut album "A Coming Storm" but also the title song of their upcoming new album "Kings Will Fall". The tent was quite good filled and Winterstorm knew exactly how to enthuse the audience. With technically perfect solos and epic tracks being a mixture of power, epic and viking metal they could convince musically to 100%. Show wise everything was a little bit more reserved which was not that bad at all. I perfectly fit.
I was completely enthused just as the other people but unfortunately I have to say again that the bands (at least that one's that do not compete at the Metal Battle) receive too few time. After round about five songs unfortunately they had to finish but I am sure that you will hear more about them in future.
