Meanwhile not only mood was getting better but also temperatures in the sun were raising. After the great opening with Prong let’s move on to the True Metal Stage where Tom Angelripper with his trash old hand Sodom is already waiting. There a broadside of their greatest hits was played and who was not awakened after this is beyond help.
Directly with “Agent Orange” of the equally named album you get to know what to expect of the guys from Gelsenkirchen: fast and hard riffs combined with terrific “thrashing” of the drums. Tom and Markus “Makka” Freiwald were really in a good mood and the audience directly was catching fire. It was moshed like there would be no tomorrow. With their nicely mixed program there was no boredom arising. No matter if it was “The Saw Is The Law” or the German-language “Ausgebombt” where they were supported by the Killshot guitarist. Of their latest album “Epitome Of Torture” there was only “Stigmatized” that got part of the set.
In my point of view it was an absolutely great concert of which you leave exhausted but happy. Who likes thrash should in each case take a listen to Sodom, which is always worth a recommendation!
