After the crushing soundwaves of Abrupt Demise, things were about to get more melodic again. Up next were Chiffre, a band that can only look back on a fairly short history. Founded in 2018 in Osnabrück, they’ve released just one album and several singles so far. Still, their performance felt as if they had been making music together for much longer. Their musical style blends metalcore with 80s-inspired synths and slightly pop-tinged elements.
The music was instantly catchy, and the four guys brought plenty of energy to the stage. Pascal Heemann delivered a fully convincing vocal performance, and his bandmates guitarist Jonas Malter, bassist Fabian Sodke, and drummer Björn Flachmann matched him every step of the way. The atmosphere on stage was excellent and full of energy, which finally sparked noticeably more excitement in the crowd as well. It was slowly getting a bit fuller in front of the stage, though there was still plenty of space. Nevertheless, it was a truly fantastic performance that really swept the audience along.
