At the afternoon duell of the semi final day the Swedes were facing the Czech. In a lively game there were a lot opportunities on both sides. It were firstly the Swedes who took over the lead which was directly afterwards answered by the Czech with a goal against.
During the second period the Swedes again took over the lead and scored but the upcoming pressure of the Czech did not give anything countable for them. Overall the Swedes seemed to be already at the final game with their thoughts when the Czech Republic was able to force the overtime by a last minute goal.
During that nothing noticeable happened and so the penalty shooting had to bring the decision. Just like in the quarter final game the Czech did not get nerves and were finally able to win the game by 3:2.
