The absolute highlight of the whole festival was without doubt Iron Maiden. With their “The Final Frontier” tour the guys around frontman Bruce Dickinson guest at Wacken and presented for two hours one classic after the other, also their new song “The Final Frontier”.
It seemed, like really nobody was at the camping yard during this event because the festival area in front of the two big stages Black and True Metal Stage was extremely crowded. Really impressive was besides the great show on stage (Bruce ran across the whole stage like a tornado) the wonderful pearls of songs like “Blood Brothers” dedicated to the deceased Ronny James Dio or “Fear Of The Dark”. Of course Eddie may not be missing entering the stage in his newest version. In fact, two hours were much too short and also many great songs like „The Trooper“ or „Run To The Hills“ were missing but here the motto of the day „A Night To Remember“ fitted 100%.
Although I already went towards the True Metal Stage whilst Mötley Crüe was playing, I had to stand quite far away from it and due to the weak light, my camera was struggling a lot. So apologies for the bad image quality but it was not possible to make better ones..
