Wacken Open Air XXII

Wacken (Germany)

(Pentax k-x with Tamron SP AF 17-50mm 2.8 XR Di II LD Asp IF and Sigma AF 50-150mm 2.8 EX DC APO HSM II)

On Wednesday evening this year’s Wacken Open Air started very calm for me. At first, I saw Horch before later that evening the Belgian Metal Battle winners Powerstroke were following. Their style of music is described by a mixture of Metal and Hardcore. Additionally the three Belgians describe themselves with the three words: basic groovy powerful.
Before the festival I had listened to the songs on their website and originally they were not on my list of bands that I wanted to see. But due to the fact that Belgians were part of the group I was camping with I finally followed them to this performance. And I have to say that I did not regret it. Live were the three guys much better than what I heard before. Nicely powerful and really straight forward. Because of not having a real stage performance it was the music that was very much in the foreground and it was good as it was. All in all a perfect closure of the day.
