Wacken Open Air XXII

Wacken (Germany)

(Pentax k-x with Tamron SP AF 17-50mm 2.8 XR Di II LD Asp IF and Sigma AF 50-150mm 2.8 EX DC APO HSM II)

Directly after The Murder Of My Sweet it continued Scandinavik. After a short break to change the stage setting the four from Norway of Triosphere entered the stage. The band is set up as follows: On drums there is Ørjan Aare Jørgensen. He is supported by the two guitarists Marius Silver Bergesen and Tor Oly Byberg. For bass and vocals you can find front woman Ida Haukland responsible.
Musically you could assign the group somewhere between progressive and symphonic metal. During the 30 minutes available to them there were songs of their two albums "Onwards" and "The Road Less Traveled" being played. Of course they could not play that much but what they presented could really convince. Especially Ida's forceful voice was quite impressive and Marius put again and again the spot on himself. Their music left enough space for his extended solos.
Everything was short and crispy and really surprised me. I did not expect such a good band. That is why I am happy all the more that I can watch them again on Metal Female Voices Fest IX in Oktober.
