As Norwegian representant the men of Faanefjell entered the stage on Thursday noon. It was a somehow bizarre view: The guys on strings wearing Norwegian sweaters and the singer only dressed with medieval trousers but instead veeeryyy maascuuline :-).
The whole thing was a quite entertaining gig during which the band around singer Benjamin "Syrtroll" Isar Jørgensen played a mixture of folk metal with death and black metal influences. Especially Jørgensen again and again came to the fore impressively with his voice and his great gestures. Just like for all Metal Battle gigs also for them there was not much time planned but which was used very good by them and formed a real good start into the first official festival day.
