25.01.2019 Stahlzeit

EmslandArena, Lingen (Germany)

(Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II)

For the first time at the EmslandArena at Lingen and everything started quite relaxed. Just directly before the Stahlzeit concert began the arena started to get filled but nevertheless there was enough space for everyone although the venue was quite well filled with 1800 optimistic visitors.
Just in time at 20:00 with Stahlzeit one of the best Rammstein cover bands entered the stage and there can be no doubt that one was expecting a fiery show here and today. They opened with the last vital sign of the original “Ramm 4” and for the upcoming 2.5 hours one hit after the other should follow. There was really something for everyone. Songs of the early years like “Asche Zu Asche“ of the album “Herzeleid” but also something current like “Rammlied” of the last “real” album “Liebe Ist Für Alle Da”. And also from softer sounds like “Frühling In Paris” to steamrollers like “Feuer Frei!”. Unbelievable how detailed Stahlzeit was going about. The special effects were slight simpler, somehow reduced and adapted to the size of the venue but nevertheless 1:1 taken over from the original. Furthermore, singer Helfried “Heli” Reißenweber is optically just as acoustically a copy of Rammstein front man Till Lindemann. One really had the feeling to have him right in front. But also the other band members were following their role models optically and from their behavior so that a really perfect atmosphere was created.
First, keyboarder Ron Huber was more at the background hiding his face with a woolen hat and sunglasses. The only thing that was missing was the for Flake mandatory treadmill but finally that did not mean anything to me. As during the concert there were again and again these small skirmishes between him and Heli. In former days it was a regular feature of Rammstein shows that Flake was sailing across the audience with a rubber boat but that was discontinued after he had fallen out too often. Huber was even surfing standing. For bassist Öksüz it was additionally a special evening as he received a birthday serenade. Not to forget the two guitarists Matthias and Mike Sitzmann just as the drummer Thomas Buchberger-Voigt delivering a flawless performance.
The time passed by like nothing and finally Heli hovered as angel at the background to the equally named song “Engel” to form the culmination. Who was not able to get tickets for the original should consider Stahlzeit as a serious alternative from my point of view. You will for sure be not entertained worse. And as this evening was so nice they directly announced that they would stop off Lingen again next year.
