Metal Female Voices Fest IX

Just like Kivimetsän Druidi also the German band Deadlock was guest on this festival two years ago for the last time. Unfortunately singer Johannes Prem was not able to join and so bassist John Gahlert took over the growl parts.
With their melodic death metal they really made the venue boil. John made his thing quite well and really knew how he had to treat the audience right. Also of the two guitarists Sebastian Reichl and Geert Rymen a great performance was presented just as ususal. Especially impressed I was of singer Sabine Scherer wo improved vocally a lot since the last gig on this festival . The clear hooks were much better compared to the last time and during the song "State Of Decay" she even was able to show a full song on her own what she is capable of. Overall there were not only pieces of their current album "Bizarro World" but also a cross section of all former released albums.
Even small technical issues could not mar the gig and was routined covered up. So in the beginning Sebastian was having problems with his guitar which could quickly be solved and towards the end of the concert Sabine had issues with her micorphone. That she could be heard futheron John was permanently swapping his one between them both just like a baton until it was fixed.
From my point of view this was one of the best gigs of the festival and the audience was also extremely enthused. I am looking forward if this was already a foretaste to the personal changes as shortly after the festival the original frontmen and founding member Johannes Prem announced his leave of the band to be able to take new private chances which would collide with the band. Due to that I wish im all the best for his future. The new singer will soon be announced and also the upcoming tour shall be made together with him. So you can still be curious, who it will be.
