Current and bygone journeys and excursions

Let’s start with the most recent article: a look back at last summer’s vacation in Italy. The tour through the northern part of the country took us from Lake Maggiore through Rapallo and Pisa to Florence. From there, we continued via Lake Garda with a detour to Verona, and then on to South Tyrol.
In addition, I’ve brought back impressions from two zoos I visited. First, there’s Apenheul Zoo in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands. This monkey-focused zoo was truly impressive, even though the weather unfortunately didn’t cooperate. The second zoo I visited last year was the newly built Wildlands Zoo, also in the Netherlands, located in Emmen. It’s now significantly larger than its predecessor, and the number of animal species has been noticeably reduced. However, this has resulted in much nicer, larger, and more attractive enclosures, making the zoo feel far more inviting than the old site.
