As closure of the day the grande dame of metal Doro Pesch could show what she still has it got. And that was quite a lot. Two years ago on Metal Female Voices Fest Vii she was honored for her lifetime work, last year she celebrated her 25th stage jubilee. On this evening she directly continued where she stopped two years ago at the very same place.
Of course she brought her usual band with her giving their share to make it a really energetic gig. No matter if it was her longtime companion Johnny Dee on drum set, Nick Douglas on bass or the two guitarists Bas Maas and Luca Princiotta, all are just like Doro real stage hogs and provided a really terrific show. Unfortunately after the Leaves' Eyes concert the venue emptied already a little bit and also the atmosphere was not that good anymore. Anyhow, that ones that stayed had a lot of fun.
Just like the last time there as a nice cross section through all phases of her career was shown. Of course also this time the guest singers may not be missing and so Liv Kristine from Leaves' Eyes as well as Veronica Freeman of Benedictum supported Doro during the encore "Celebrate". Unfortunately this was the only encore. Due to the stage modification work that needed some longer and also the Leaves' Eyes concert which started later the gig was shortened from originally planned 80 minutes down to short of 60 minutes. Why I do not know. Last year during Arch Enemy it was comparable. Also there the concert was shortened by 15 minutes compared to the planned length. In both cases it was aborted on time to the planned end point. I suppose that the promoters have to announce that the event is going after midnight and that that may only go to that end point without undergoing punishment. So it was unfortunately a really great concert with a slight damper.
