By the Finnish symphonic power metal band Amberian Dawn a wellknown band entered the stage. Already 2009 they were visiting and now they were brought to the line-up short timed as replacement for Krypteria. They had unfortunately to cancel their show due to pregnancy of singer Ji-In Cho.
Althogh everything made a slight improvised impression (statement of singer Heidi: "Sorry, we do not have a set-list today!") you could see their routine. Directly from start of a very good atmosphere was around at the audience when Heidi Parviainen with powerful operatic voice belt out songs like "Lionheart" or "Valkyries". Very gorgeous also the great solis of both guitarists Kasperi Heikkinen and Kimmo Korhonen (although also keyboarder Tuomas Seppää took the guitar inbetween). Very entertaining they played a cross section across the four formerly released albums of the band ending with the legendary "River Of Tuoni". By that the mood at the audience reached its climax and by loud applause Amberian Dawn was leaving the stage.
Although it was a really short timed it was a great gig not leaving any whishes open. A great voice, great musicians who really know what they are doing, terrific atmosphere, so is there anything you could want more? It is a pitty that shortly after the Metal Female Voices Fest it was announced that singer Heidi Parviainen would leave the band. With her also guitarist Kasperi Heikkinen and drummer Heikki Saari were leaving. I seems like that had already been decided during the beginning of the year and with Joonas Pykääaho on drums and Emil "Emppu" Phjalainen already two replacements who had been band members during ealier days. Only for Heidi a suitable replacement is still searched but it seems that that is already found. But the name should be announced not earlier than December. So we will have to wait what impact it has on the terrific music of Amberian Dawn.
