After starting with medieval sounds now the first visit to the large tent followed which is a little bit smaller than last year. Nevertheless there were two stages inside (W.E.T. and Headbanger Stage) on which the Metal Battle bands could show their skills during the first day.
Today I only had seen the Italian winners Backjumper and mainly heard. The band started in 2003 their first tentative steps but it took until 2008 to release their first CD "Across The Deadline". Three years later "White, Black And The Lies Between" should follow. They discribe their sound as a mixture of post hardcore, metal and southern rock. This combination did not only work at Italy but also at Wacken where the unfortunately very small audience was quickly set into motion quite well. An overall quite entertaining gig but one that let to really good mood.
